I had one thing on my mind once I got my car out of customs at the Limassol port. To find the best radio stations Cyprus had to offer.
\nI moved to Cyprus from the UK, North London, In September 1992 and had no plans to become a radio presenter. Yet one evening while scanning radio channels to program into my car stereo, I heard a British born Cypriot called Laki presenting a show called ‘it’s about that time’ on a Local Larnaca station. Laki played RnB and tunes from the 80’s. A few nights later, I met Laki by chance in a bar and we got chatting.
\nI was invited up to the station and the rest as they say is history. A few months later I was given my own slot on another Larnaca station at the start of 1993 and was thrown straight into the deep end by presenting the drive time show 5pm-7pm and “STREET SOUNDS” was born.
\nBy the end of 1994 I fell out with the management of the station and decided to move to Limassol where I worked in music retail. It’s there where I met up with Panos the managing director of a new station called Melody radio 103.1fm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
